Sfakian Traditions

Kanakis Geronymakis
and his Paintings

Kanakis I. Geronymakis

Kanakis I. Geronymakis (Geronimakis)   was born in
Vouvas (Sfakia, Crete) in 1926 and is still living there.
Since many years he worked as a local amateur historian
and published many articles and books (15 books until
today) about local traditions and old working practices.
For better exemplification he created numerous paintings
and drawings (Naive Stile) to illustrate the books.
